Our main strengths in particle processing are in classification and counter-current washing of solids but we have extensive experience in all other unit operations involving particulate systems. Our activities are mainly in advising people how to "engineer" their processes to produce powders or suspensions of required properties.
Engineering of particle size distributions is an area particularly in demand now and our short course Classification of Solids and software on Classification of Particulate Materials are useful here. The Counter-current Washing of Solids short course also attracts great interest because it is a complex process involving separation of phases as well as mass transfer.
Powder handling and storage are very much part of processing and we advice or assist in the test work necessary for equipment design or troubleshooting. Our own program on Hopper Design is used for equipment design based on such tests.
